Brown Thai Fried Rice

Brown Thai Fried Rice

1 tablespoon garlic, minced

½ block of firm tofu

2 tablespoon nutritional yeast (for color)

1 ½ tablespoon vegan chicken style seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

2 tablespoon sesame seed oil

1 yellow onion sliced

1 handful cilantro, coarsely chopped

2 cups sliced zucchini, broccoli, or any veggies you like

2 cups bean sprouts

sliced green onions

sliced pineapples (optional)

sesame seeds (optional)

crushed peanuts (optional)

2 cups cooked brown rice

 

Preparation:

1.  In a hot skillet or wok, pour sesame seed oil and saute the minced garlic.

2.  When garlic is light brown, crumble the tofu and pour into skillet.

3.  Add in nutritional yeast, chicken style seasoning, garlic and onion powder.

4.  When brown, set aside.

5.  In the same skillet, pour more sesame seed oil and saute the onions.

6.  Add in the veggies (zucchini, broccoli, cilantro, bean sprouts).

7.  Season to taste with chicken style seasoning, garlic and onion powder.

8.  Add cooked brown rice.  Mix well for about 3-5 minutes.

9  Serve on platter.  Top with pineapples, sesame seeds, green onion, and crushed peanuts.
