Chipped Tofu

Chipped Tofu

DRAIN and FREEZE tofu at least overnight then thaw 2 packages of fresh water packed tofu.
COMBINE in a mixing bowl and set aside:

3 TBS peanut or almond butter
1/2 cup of water
1 TBS paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup of nutritional yeast flakes
1 1/2 tsp salt

Slice the thawed tofu into strips and lay them on a cookie sheet.  With a small basting brush spread the basting mixture on both sides of the tofu strips.  Bake at 375 F for 50 minutes turning at the halfway point.  Tofu should look like dried up french fries.  (Don’t overcook or overbake them. They should not be dark.)  May cut them up into strips or cubes and place in a dish and pour country style gravy over them and then serve over the biscuits.
